Summer Quarter 2026

A Note from Trisha

Summer has arrived! It’s time for gardens and camping and visits to the lake. Maybe you have plans to travel over the next couple of months or have visitors coming to you. My summer is bookended with weddings! Whatever your summer adventures entail, I pray you remain steadfast in your devotion to Jesus (Col. 3:17).

We have an exciting morning to look forward to in August. Managers of Their Homes is a 3-hour event bringing practical applicability to the command of Titus 2:5. In a culture that is struggling to pass along tangible wisdom from one generation to the next, Managers of Their Homes offers instruction in menu planning, home organization, budgeting, and hosting. I am excited for this opportunity and believe it may richly bless those who attend. Consider setting aside the date and stay on the lookout for more information coming soon.

Many of our regular classes are taking a break for the summer. However, we still have ways to stay connected, and I hope you invest yourself in one or more of the following options:

• Family Dinners! Wednesdays, July 8, 15, and 22 at the church at 6pm. Come with something to share and maybe a lawn chair and enjoy an evening on the lawn.

• WomenCreating! Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon at the church except 4th of July and Labor Day weekends. Learn more on the Women’s Ministry page of the website.

• Women’s Sunday School! We have a wonderful group of ladies that meet every Sunday (except during outdoor services) at 9:15 a.m. in room 9. Come and enjoy fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.

I pray that each one of you finds a deeper joy in God during this season of warmth.

Book Corner

This is a new addition to our quarterly newsletter. I love to read and figured someone else out there might be like me. So, here is a list of books I’m currently reading. Let me know what your favorite book is and it might make it into the next issue’s Book Corner.

• The Light in Our Eyes: Rediscovering the Love, Beauty, and Freedom of Jesus in an Age of Disillusionment by Nicholas McDonald.

• The Guns of August: The Outbreak of World War I by Barbara Tuchman

• Bunburry, A Cosy Mystery Series: Murder at the Mousetrap by Helena Marchmont (great Audible listen!)

• By Faith, Not by Sight: Paul and the Order of Salvation by Richard Gaffin

*A note - none of these books is the Bible (maybe some especially less so than others!). Therefore, they all require some degree of consideration. Allow them to stretch you, refine you, entertain you, or create discussion points in your next conversation. But do not take them as Gospel. They will always fall short.

I encourage you to consider joining a small group, or checking out one of these classes, if you are not already plugged into a community that encourages you to develop as a godly woman. Below are a few of our opportunities, and you will find all our women’s ministries here.

Women’s Precept Study

Paula Haldy leads an intrepid group of women through the Bible using materials and methods from Kay Arthur’s Precept Ministries. They meet at Christ Community Church on Thursdays at 9am. This inductive Bible study class is for women of all ages and class is available in-person and via Zoom. Click here for more info.

Women in the Word

We are a committed group of Christian women who work on finding comfort and courage in God's word. We share the joys and challenges of life as we study the Bible and pray together. Our goal is to better understand how to relate to and communicate with God at all times . . . but especially in hard times. Jump in and join us any time! Click here for more info.
