What wonderful fellowship and teaching we enjoyed at this year’s retreat in Burley! Special thanks again to Trisha Randall (speaker), Jess Zornosa and Kristen Hickinbotham (worship), and Sarah Mueller, Leigh Thomas, and Mandy Jones (breakout leaders) for all the ways they served and blessed us throughout the weekend.
We missed those of you who could not attend and hope you join us next year. We are already working on 2024 dates and will announce them ASAP so you can put them on your calendars!

A new 6-week study of Psalms 1–22, “The Lord Hears When I Call”, begins on October 26 and will continue on Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 in Room 2. We will learn how we are blessed to be in right relationship with Him and our response to Him in worship. Please contact Paula Haldy (pmlh46@gmail.com) to order a book. This class will be offered in person and via Zoom.

Women’s Discipleship Night

Women’s Discipleship Night is back for the 2023-2024 season! Please join us for a time of teaching, discussion, and prayer as we hear from different women every 4th Tuesday of the month during the school year from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 4. Kim Case led a wonderful discussion on God’s faithfulness in September and we’ll be hearing from Kim DeKold on Oct. 24th on the subject of anger. (You go, Kim! :)

Ladies, make sure to take advantage of the opportunity to walk and pray this fall with other women on Wednesdays at 3:30. Stephanie Sandbek, who leads this effort, posts the meeting point and location-based prayer requests prior to each meeting on the CCC women’s Facebook page (see link below to join). Meetings are expected to continue outdoors through October and will then go week to week through the winter, with possible indoor meetings planned!

Christmas Creations (and class)!

In preparation for our annual women’s Christmas gathering on Dec. 9th, we are looking for donations of non-food, hand-made items (like cards, bookmarks, soap, knitted socks, etc.) to display for purchase by those who attend. All proceeds will go to the Shepherd’s Inn, a local faith-based pregnancy resource center for teens and young adults. Donations will be accepted in the grand hall on Sunday, Nov. 19 and Sunday Nov. 26 to give enough time for pricing and preparation. If you donate, we invite you to submit a short bio with your items. On Oct. 26, during Art 101 in Room 2 from 1:00 to 4:00, Kathryn Hickinbotham and Jan Sperry will demonstrate a variety of techniques that can be used to make cards and other items for the event above. Supplies will be provided (but if you have supplies you’d like to use, please bring them). You can take your completed ‘masterpieces’ home with you! The purpose of the women’s ministry at Christ Community Church is to encourage, equip, and connect women of all stages and help them live out their calling as essential partners in fulfilling the Great Commission. To that end, the ministry will plan and implement programs and events that encourage women to glorify God and study His word, love and serve one another, form close bonds through Christian fellowship, and share the good news of the Gospel with those who have not yet embraced the saving grace of Jesus.
